Our client is one of the emerging technology leaders in the region where you will be part of a highly specialized design/development group. This Wexford-based team supports our client's operational leadership teams with graphically-driven business intelligence via their proprietary engine that parses and processes templates to produce graphic-driven presentations/reports on the fly.
This job opportunity involves the use of Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG-XML) to convey information, such as performance metrics, demographic information, and the like, via visualizations – much like Power Point.
The selected candidate will be working with a Creative Director and/or Designer(s) as a team to develop the foundation and execution of the product visualizations. This includes mapping reports and infographic designs into data reporting applications that tell a story through these visual representations.
The ideal person would have a strong desire to visually represent data by utilizing SVG/CSS/HTML to create data-driven infographics that are both static and animated. We are looking for a self-starter who loves learning about the integration of graphical design and software development practices. The best fit would be someone who has experience in both graphic design and software development.
The development environment uses C#, SVG, HTML, CSS, XSL and XSL-FO. Javascript and web-based frameworks will start to be used very soon.

- Create graphics in SVG from scratch
- Look at software code, such as C# or Java, and follow its logic, understanding what it does.
- Debug an application using various tools.
- Design and code HTML pages of varying complexity.
- Analyze a business problem and create a visual/technical solution to solve it.
- Convert solution into an Object Oriented design.
- Understand functional programming.
- Be self-motivated to learn and apply knowledge.
- Be familiar with software trends and discuss their relevance.
