The Marketing Events and Promotions Coordinator will plan and oversee all company sponsored events. They will be responsible for successful event negotiations, promotion, and execution. You will have the opportunity to continue to hone your skills here, using every facet of the marketing ecosystem to do your thing.
Responsibilities
- Plan marketing and company events for the client’s B2B and B2C channels with attention to financial and time constraints
- Understand requirements for each type of event and audience (B2B) and (B2C) including:
- VIP Dinners, Roundtables, Focus Groups, Professional Training Events, Trade Shows, Promotional Weeks, All Company Meetings, Holiday Parties
- Book venues and schedule speakers, ensure they are paid on time
- Research vendors (catering, decorators, musicians etc.) and choose the best combination of quality and cost
- Negotiate with vendors to achieve the most favorable terms
- Manage all event operations and promotion (preparing venue, invitations, Eventbrite, Website, Social etc.)
- Do final checks onsite the day of the event (e.g. tables, technology) to ensure everything meets standards
- Oversee event happenings and act quickly to resolve problems while maintaining composure (Exhibits keen understanding of front stage/back stage knowledge, displays grace under pressure)
- Evaluate event’s success and submit ROI reports
- Organize social media schedule, write content for Facebook and examine results
- Write and edit copy, promote special events, coordinate social media, utilize SEO and content marketing strategies
- Prepare PowerPoint presentation and accompanying documents for events and meetings
- Create and edit marketing and technical materials as well as PowerPoint presentations
Professional Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related fields
- Two to four years of marketing and communications experience preferred.
- Excellent writing skills
- Advanced in Microsoft PowerPoint and other Office tools
- Experience implementing social media campaigns
- Experience marketing trade shows or conferences preferred
- Excellent interpersonal skills and upbeat, enthusiastic, and positive attitude
- Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail
- Ability to balance multiple requests in a fast-paced evolving environment
- Ability to understand and leverage analytics
- Ability to quickly learn new tools and technology
- Flexibility to travel to oversee events onsite appreciated
- Negotiating and Sales Skills are a bonus
